Graduating with honors from Portland State University where he majored in Psychology and Biology earned him a special acknowledgement for his outstanding academic accomplishments. Additionally he was awarded the distinguished Laurel Merit Scholarship and upon completion of medical school was accepted into the legendary plastic surgery residency program at Michigan State University.
